Seasonal Living

Embrace the seasons and make the most of today with some seasonal living activities.

Farming is dominated by the weather and the time of year and so it’s not surprising that in the countryside we follow the rythm of the year. In autumn, the cycle of preparing the ground and planting crops begins and the hedges are filled with berries and fruits, ripe for foraging before life slows down for winter, when it’s good to stay inside on cold, short days making things and being sociable.  In spring, the countryside bursts into life and walking through woods there’s the pungent smell of wild garlic or the heady scent of bluebells. By summer, the farming year comes full circle as the crops ripen and are harvested, always with one eye on the weather.
