I'm a big believer in this one... to be creative and thoughtful, we need boredom, absent-mindedness and time just to sit still and let our minds wander ⠀ >⠀ It's easy to be always plugged into something, listening or watching or reading...⠀ >⠀ But sometimes just letting the mind be still is the best way of noticing what's going on around us. It can help us to find lost thoughts, percolate creative ideas and hear that spark of an idea germinating...⠀ >⠀ Although I'm not sure that I can always listen to my dreams, because sometimes they are too off the wall 😄
#FAQs What do I need to bring to class?⠀ .⠀ Once you're booked onto a class there's very little to do before you get here...⠀ >⠀ It's useful to have some sketches and doodles prepared, so bring along your sketchbook (we have lots of blog posts dedicated to this). ⠀ >⠀ You should also bring your packed lunch, but don't worry - tea, coffee and homemade cake will be in good supply! ⠀ >⠀ I have aprons so that you can protect your clothes, although it's always a good idea to wear something you don't mind getting a little messy.⠀ >⠀ Usually everything else is included and will be ready and waiting for you when you arrive. What's holding you back from teaching your own workshop? 🎨⠀ I love it when the barn is filled with people learning something new - in the past we've had taxidermy classes, flower arranging, chocolate truffle making, digital photography workshops and painting demonstrations and coming up we have some Christmas wreath classes, as well as the regular printmaking courses...⠀ .⠀ ... but there's still room for more & I know there are lots of students eager to learn something new and relax in the barn.
